I'll dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
